A Tisket, A Tasket

A Tisket, A Tasket

The star of the playground : it’s GREAT ! A little like grandmother’s footsteps, you must customise it so that the children ask for it again and again. Feel free to adapt the voices to the theme of the birthday party.

— Let’s sit down in a circle. On my count of three, everybody on the floor : 1, 2, 3 ! Do you know the song «A tisket, a tasket» ? Let’s have a try, to see if everyone knows it : «A tisket, a tasket, a green and yellow basket. I wrote a letter to my love. And on the way I dropped it. I dropped it, I dropped it and on the way I dropped it.» I will choose the «dropper». Henry, here is the letter (the scarf). You will drop it behind the child who sings best before the end of the song. The child who gets the letter jumps up and chases Henry around the circle. OK ?

— Yes !

— So on my count of three, close your eyes and start singing. 1, 2, 3 : «A tisket, a tasket…»

— It’s you Lily ! Look behind you, the letter is for you, you must catch Henry.

— Henry, run as fast as you can to outrun Lily. Let’s cheer them on, «Come on Lily !»…

— Well done ! But maybe it was too easy for you ! Let’s make it more difficult, we’ll change our voice. What about a duck’s voice ? Can you talk like a duck ? You just need to pinch your nose. Are you ready ? Lily, don’t forget to drop your letter behind the child who sings best like a duck ! On my count of three, close your eyes : 1, 2, 3 ! «A tisket, a tasket…»

Change your voice at each round, children love it ! They can imitate the voice of a princess, a robot, a monster, a mouse. Have them practise the voice before each round.

Show them how to do the voices by adding a different tone, it won’t fail to make them laugh and they will imitate the voices even better !

You’ll just love these articles
